N5,000 stipend to unemployed youths unnecessary - Governor says

Okorocha said paying the allowance pay push the youths to indulge in romantic relationships multiple women and alcohol abuse.

 

While speaking to State House correspondents after a private meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Okorocha said paying the allowance pay push the youths to indulge in romantic relationships multiple women and alcohol abuse.

The Governor noted that the allowance would have been a good idea, but insists there are better ways to better these young people's lives than giving them cash.

Earlier, the Vice President spokesman, Laolu Akande, had stated that Buhari never promised to pay the monthly allowance, noting that only those who are extremely poor will be paid a monthly stipend of N5,000.
