Murdered Police officer buried in Niger

Alkali was killed along with some of his colleagues in the violence that characterised the rerun elections to fill vacant legislative seats.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the corpse, which arrived Minna at about 1.30 a.m., was received by the deceased’s father, Alhaji Yakubu Alkali, a retired Commissioner of Police, family members and many sympathizers.

The funeral rites were witnessed by top government officials that included Alhaji Zubairu Muazu, Commissioner of Police in Niger.

The deceased is survived by his parents, one wife and three children.
