FG fixes October 3rd - 21st for pensioners' verification

This is contained in a statement signed on Friday by Mr Alex Okoh, Head, Public Communications of the agency, in Abuja.

The statement said that the exercise would hold between Oct. 3 and Oct. 21  in six identified centres in the country.

“The exercise will take place at the Lagos, Benin and Kaduna Centres from Oct. 3 to Oct. 7, while it will hold at Port Harcourt and Bauchi Centres from Oct 10 to Oct. 14.

“The venue of the exercise at Lagos Centre is the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN), while Bishop Kelly Centre is the venue of Benin screening.

“The Kaduna Electric Head Office is the venue for Kaduna, while the Abuja Centre will be at the Merit House in Maitama, from Oct. 19 to Oct. 21."

However, the BPE boss advised the beneficiaries to appear physically and not by proxy while satisfying  conditions which include:

“Retirees verification form should be completed; original and photocopy of letter of 1st appointment; original and photocopy of letter of confirmation of appointment.

“Original and photocopy  of letter of last promotion; original and photocopy  of certificate of birth/declaration of age; original and photocopy  of letter of retirement.

“Also certified recent six months bank statement; beneficiary’s passport photograph; original and photocopy of letter of application for payment of pension.

“In case of deferred pensioners on attainment of 45 years age, retiree  pensioner I.D/C&B pension letter and certified bank statement.

“Similarly, If the NOKs are more than one, the bank statement must be a joint account of the Next of Kins, from February 2014 to date."
