'I was not arrested by EFCC' - NAFDAC DG faults reports

A former finance director of NAFDAC, Ademola Mogbojuri, had alleged that Orhii was behind shady deals and financial recklessness at the agency.

NAFDAC DG, Paul Orhii

The Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Paul Orhii, has dismissed viral reports that he was arrested  by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over corruption allegations.

According to a statement signed by the Agency's spokesman Abubakar Jimoh and published of NAFDAC's Facebook page, Orhii was truly present at the EFCC office, but the visit was described as "normal and routine process for anyone who is accused to respond and clear his name accordingly."

A former finance director of NAFDAC, Ademola Mogbojuri, had alleged that Orhii was behind shady deal and financial recklessness at the agency.

He said the DG refused to remit funds meant for the federation account, and instead channelled the agency’s internally generated revenues to fund political campaign in his home Benue State.

Orhii has however denied all allegations, and it is believed he was at the EFCC to defend himself.
