Our leadership will not let down workers- NLC President

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), will defend and protect workers interest in all issues relating to their welfare and will not let them down, its President, Mr Ayuba Wabba, has pledged.

Wabba made the pledge on Monday in Maiduguri in his remarks at a reception organised in his honour by Borno State Chapter of the union.

He said that the union would also strive to protect the interests of the downtrodden in all issues.

Wabba however declined comment on issues relating to minimum wage, petroleum products and others.

The NLC boss commended the Nigerian Army for its efforts to defeat Boko Haram insurgents.

"We commend the gallantry of our armed forces and commiserate with the families of those who have paid the supreme price in the defence of the territorial integrity of our fatherland,'' he said.
