Reports say President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier showed interest in the creation of the NEDC to stem the development deficiency created by Boko Haram insurgents.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Special Duties, Sen. Abdul' Aziz Murtala Nyako also hinted that the Senate will soon call for a public hearing concerning the proposed commission.
The Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) also denied entering into a ceasefire agreement with the Federal Government.
