Agency destroys Indian hemp farm, recovers 5 guns in Plateau

She disclosed that eight persons, including a woman were arrested, while the farm was burnt down by the operatives.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has destroyed 5.93 hectares of Cannabis Sativa in Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau.

Mrs Ngozi Madubuike, the NDLEA Commander in the state, said that the farm, located at Zampit village in Shimaka district of the area, was located after a tip off.

She told newsmen on Monday in Jos that the value of the destroyed Indian hemp stood at N670, 380.

Madubuike said that the operation was carried out in collaboration with soldiers of 332 Artillery Battalion, Shendam.

Madubuike said five guns were recovered from two of the suspects.

The commander urged residents to support the agency by volunteering vital information to track down drug traffickers in the state.
