Group condemns arrest of Abubakar Audu’s son

The group also called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris to call his men to order.

Mohammed Audu:

The incident however did not go down with the former Governor’s supporters who claim the Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello is behind Mohammed’s woes.

The Audu/Faleke political organisation, in a statement, condemned the arrest of Abubakar’s son.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Duro Meseko described the whole matter as an act of executive lawlessness.

The group also called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris to call his men to order.

According to the group, “We thought the alarm we raised few days ago about plans to arm twist the judiciary with a fake security report would serve to keep the Alhaji Bello’s camp in check but rather it has brought out from them a fresh carefully scripted plan to start indiscriminate arrests of Audu/Faleke supporters ahead of the Supreme Court Judgement to justify the fake security report that there would be anarchy in Kogi if Bello is removed from office.”

The former Governor of Kogi state and All Progressives Congress (APC) flag-bearer in the 2015 Kogi state governorship election, Abubakar Audu, died on Sunday, November 22, 2015.
