50 dead, 95 injured in blasts

Another 95 persons were severely injured in the explosions which went off in the Ajilari Railway Cross and Bintu Sugar areas of the state capital.

 

The bomb blasts which occurred on Sunday, September 21, 2015, in Maiduguri, Borno State have claimed at least 50 lives, reports say.

According to Vanguard, another 95 persons were severely injured in the explosions which went off in the Ajilari Railway Cross and Bintu Sugar areas of the state capital.

The explosions, believed to be the work of Boko Haram suicide bombers, reportedly occurred between 7pm and 8pm on Sunday.

The blasts have been confirmed by Army spokesperson, Colonel Sani Usman who said that the explosions show Boko Haram’s increasing desperation.

The death toll has however not been officially confirmed by any of the necessary emergency authorities.
