The committee is chaired by a member from Ogun State, Kayode Oladele.

Senate vs Magu

Magu's job is still threatened due to his running battle with the Senate, and with the recent ruling by a Federal High Court last week, his days as the EFCC boss may be numbered.

The court had ruled that the Senate has the power to confirm or reject him as the substantive chairman of the Commission.

The Senate had rejected Magu's confirmation twice based on a report by the Department of State Service (DSS) which declared him unfit for the job.

President Muhammadu Buharialso refused to remove Magu despite Senate's insistence that the EFCC boss must be sacked.

In protest, the senate decided it would not confirm any candidate brought forward by the presidency for senate approval until Magu is removed.

While President Buhari was on medical leave, a statement credited Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who was the acting president at the time, said that it is not constitutionally required that the Senate confirms Magu, adding that the Presidency's approval suffices.

Consequently, the matter was dragged to the court, where judgement was delivered in favour of the Senate.
