Many killed as Fulani herdsmen attack 2 villages

The herdsmen attacked Angai and Ndole villages in the Gashak Local Council area of the state on Monday, April 11, 2016, The Guardian reports.

The incident has been confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Joseph Kwaji.

“It is true that there was an attack by the herdsmen, but for now, I don’t have the full details of the crisis, so I cannot tell you the number of casualties now,” Kwaji said.

According to residents of the area, the crisis started because one of the herdsmen “was prevented from raping a woman.”

44 persons are also said to have died in the attack but this figure is yet to be confirmed by the relevant authorities.
