Man, 45, docked for allegedly defiling minor

The accused, an unemployed man, who resides at 28, Apena St., Isheri, near Lagos is being tried on a charge of defilement.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, told court that the offence was committed on March 10 at the residence of the accused.

He said the accused called his four-year-old neighbour’s daughter into his room on the pretext of sending her on an errand.

“The accused defiled the girl but the mother got to know when she saw blood stains on her pants.

“The girl said it was “Uncle Shina” that touched me,’’ Ogu said.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni, granted him bail in the sum of N250, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Akanni adjourned the case until April 5 for mention.
