The Nigeria Air Force fighter jets F-7NI has destroyed the logistics base of Boko Haram in Kangarawa, Borno State, spokesman for the Air Force, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, said in a statement on Tuesday, April 12.

According to Famuyiwa, the air strike took off another logistics base of the terrorists, thereby decimating their capabilities.

“The strike therefore constitutes another major setback for the insurgents, while providing tangible evidence of many of the recent successes recorded by the air component of Operation Lafiya Dole,” he said.

However, a retired US counter-terrorism expert had advised that the best approach to conquering the insurgents is through "air calvary."

He therefore advised the federal government not to waste money buying US Apache helicopters as being reported in the media, but rather spend the money on "high-performance long range attack/transport helicopters, such as the US Black Hawk (pictured) or the Ukrainian Mi-8 MSB."
