“The security team at the market started to suspect that she was carrying an Improvised Explosive Devise, IED, which made her to refuse the screening at the market. Sensing that she could not achieve her mission, the suspected bomber attempted to escape but the angry mob went into action and set her ablaze,” the witness added.

Another witness, Dauda Galambi told Premium Times:

“Actually, I arrived late so I don’t know what happened. I only witnessed tyres on the lady and rains of stones."

“But I was told she refused to be screened by the security officials at the market entrance,” he added.

The incident has been confirmed by the police spokesperson for the state, Haruna Mohammed, who said investigations were ongoing into the incident.
