State Government bans processions

This was disclosed via a statement released by Secretary to the State Government, Bello Shehu Ilelah.

Bauchi State governor, Barrister Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar

The statement reads:

“All security agencies are hereby directed to ensure strict compliance with this directive.”

The order is believed to be in reaction to the recent clash between Shiites and police officers in Kano State.

The incident, which left many dead, was caused by a police attempt to stop a Shiite procession.

The Borno state government has also banned processions in the state.
