Some Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have launched a protest in Abuja to show their disapproval of the poor living conditions in the camps where they are being housed.

The protest held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at the headquarters of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Abuja.

Many Nigerians have spoken out on the harsh conditions in the camps and photos showing IDPs being served poor food with shovels have emerged on social media.

Officials in the camps have also been severally accused of embezzling funds and stealing supplies meant for the displaced persons.
