The statement said that the disengagement was announcement by the Minister of Information during a meeting he had with the chief executives of the agencies in the morning.

FG disengages heads of information parastatals

The Federal Government on Monday announced the immediate disengagement of the heads of six agencies under the Ministry of Information and Culture.

The is contained in a press release signed by Mr Segun Adeyemi, Special Adviser to the Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Muhammed, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria ((NAN) in Abuja.

It listed agencies affected in the changes as Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Voice of Nigeria (VON) and News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The others are Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and National Orientation Agency (NOA).

"The Minister directed the disengaged Chief Executives to hand over to the most senior official in their various establishments,’’ it said.

NAN reports that the affected chief executives are Director-General of NTA, Mr Sola Omole, Ladan Salihu, FRCN; Mr Sam Worlu, VON and Mike Omeri, (NOA).

Others are Managing Director of NAN, Ima Niboro, and Director-General NBC, Emeka Mba.
