Agency deploys operatives to major airports in Nigeria

The ICPC specifically stated that it had installed the agency’s CCTV cameras at the airports to help detect corrupt officers.

 

Men of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission, ICPC, have been deployed to major airports in Nigeria.

Confirming the new development, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Aviation, Mrs. Binta Bello, stated that the initiative was to engender growth, confidence and transparency in the aviation industry.

Speaking further, Bello said, it was imperative to collaborate with the ICPC to effectively reduce the incidents of corruption in the sector.

According to a report by The Punch, the Federal Government deployed the ICPC officials to major airports across the country in a bid to check corruption at the various facilities.

In a statement issued by the Aviation Authority, Bello said the Federal Ministry of Aviation, ICPC and the United Nations Development Programme had unanimously agreed to take concerted efforts to exterminate corruption from the aviation industry.
