Acting EFCC boss joins President Buhari at Friday’s Prayer

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, some cabinet ministers; National Security Adviser Chief, retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno and Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari were among those who joined the president in performing the prayer.

Accordng to reports, Magu was also seen exchanging pleasantries with the president immediately after the prayer.

Magu’s re-nomination as substantive chairman of the EFCC was rejected by the Senate via a voice vote at plenary session on Wednesday, after a letter from the Department of State Services (DSS), indicated that he failed another integrity test.

However, Magu said the accusations against him were unfounded, stressing that the DSS did not give him fair hearing before writing to the Senate.

NAN also reports that the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Lawal Daura and the Comptroller-General of Customs (C-G), retired Hammed Ali were also at the mosque.

The Senate on Thursday turned back the Comptroller-General (C-G) for not appearing in customs uniform.

Senators by a voice vote directed him to return to the senate on Wednesday, March 22 in proper uniform designated for the office of Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service.

NAN observed that many worshippers remained behind after the prayer session to catch a glimpse of the president who was at the mosque, since his return from United Kingdom on Friday.
