Ex-PDP Chairman placed under police watch, son remanded in Kuje Prison over arms purchase scandal

He directed that his son be remanded in Kuje prison till Thursday.

The ruling on bail application of ex-Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Haliru Bello and his son has been fixed for Thursday, January 7.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja scheduled the ruling on today, Tuesday, Jan. 5.

The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned Bello and his son, Abbah Mohammed before Justice Ahmed Mohammed on four counts of money laundering, which they allegedly collected from the former National Security Adviser (NSA).

The court ordered the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, to monitor Bello, who is on a wheel chair and undergoing treatment, to be monitored in the hospital.
