Petrol shortage to end soon as NNPC reopens Mosinmi depot for loading

According to him, if the NNPC maintains the loading flow, the current nationwide fuel scarcity will fizzle out in no time.

Total, MRS, 11 other filling stations sealed for allegedly cheating customers

This was disclosed in Lagos on Friday, March 18, by the South-West Chairman of the union, Alhaji Tokunbo Korodo.

He said the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has started pumping petroleum products to the depot for distribution to marketers across the country.

NAN reports the depot was shut for repairs due to the supply pipelines to the depot which were damaged by vandals.

“The Mosinmi depot has received petrol supplies from the NNPC since the beginning of this week and massive loading of petroleum products has commenced there.

“We believe that if the corporation can maintain the supply of petrol steadily for some time, it will reduce the scarcity of the product nationwide.

“When you go around, you will see that the queues at Petrol Stations have reduced. If the situation continues, by next week, the scarcity will be over,’’ he said.

While commending the Federal Government for the development, Korodo urged that other NNPC depots across the nation should opened for loading so as to decongest fleet of tankers heading to load at the Mosinmi Depot.
