Petrol shortage might last till next week – Marketers

The marketers explained further that supply of the product would be hampered due to the public holiday on Friday, May 29, 2015.

Oil Marketers in Nigeria have said that the current fuel scarcity being witnessed in the country is not likely to ease up till next week.

They however told Punch that loading of petrol had resumed and was being supervised by members of the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria and Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association.

They also said that the impact of the non-stop loading couldn’t be felt yet due to the intense demand in the country at the moment.

Various sectors in Nigerian, including telecoms and banking, had begun to suffer the brunt of the scarcity before the marketers’ strike was called off on Monday, May 25, 2015.
