Agency records 146 road accidents, 49 deaths in week 24
It stated that during week 24, 49 people were killed in road traffic accidents, while 89 died in same period in week 23.

According to statistics made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Abuja on Thursday, the corps recorded more accident in week 23 with 171.
The statistics also showed that 238 vehicles were involved in road accidents nationwide in week 24 compared to 294 in week 23.
The statistics as released by the Corps Medical and Rescue Services (CMRS), showed that Abuja Zone recorded 32 accidents in week 24, the highest.

The zone also recorded the highest accidents in week 23 with 35.
Lagos and Jos followed with 17 accidents each in week 24, while Kaduna trail with 13.
The statistics stated that Yola and Sokoto zones recorded the lowest accidents during the period with four and seven.
During the period, according to the document, 49 people died in accidents throughout the country as against 89 in week 23.
Kaduna zone recorded the highest deaths in week 24 with 16, Lagos, 15 and Abuja zone 11.

Yola and Port Harcourt zones recorded the lowest death in week 24 with one death each, while Enugu followed with three.
Also during the period, 368 people involved the accidents suffered various degrees of injuries, lower than 503 involved in week 23.
