“We seek to join this campaign as we call on all women across the world to remain relentless as they claim their rights and equality.

“We call on key stakeholders to re-strategize their plans and efforts to improve synergy as we work together to advocate and sensitize the public on the importance of achieving gender equality in the society, ” she said.

Aguma said the organisation would continue to demand for parity in the workplaces and the public place in general.

The Chairperson of FIDA Abuja, Mrs Ngozi Ikenga said this year’s International Women’s Day theme calls for overcoming the resistance to attain gender parity, which would not be easy but doable.

She, however, said child trafficking, labour, abuse, violence and forms of social vices should be totally eradicated in the country.

According to her, it is necessary to build on the momentum created by the unprecedented global awakening on gender parity, ending sexism and sexual harassment.

The Chairperson, Advocacy of Human Right Committee, Abuja, Mrs Gloria Ezezika said the International Women’s Day should not just bespent celebrating the achievements of women but should be a day to proffer sustainable and practical solutions to the challenges confronting women.

The International Women’s Day was celebrated on every March 8.
