Minister calls contractors involved in the 13 kilometer Karshi- Apo road projects

All people involved in the abandoning of a 13 kilometer Karshi- Apo road projects must justify the N6.4 billion allocated to them, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Muhammad  Musa Bello, has said.

The minister who took a swipe at the director Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD) Engr. Soso Mohammed and other engineers of the FCTA for their inability to  complete the road project despite billions of Naira allocated to them, promised to get to the root of the matter.

Bello who was visibly angry over the state of the road when he visited the site with directors on Tuesday, described the Karshi road project as stagnant.

The villagers from Wase community,  who had came out to welcome the minister, said through a community leader, Usman Ishaku, that they are disappointed over the way and manner the road project was being handled.

Pulse gathered that the 13 kilometer Karshi/ Apo road project has been under construction for about four years without completion.

“The very popular Apo – Karshi road which many of them told me would be the solution to the traffic gridlock experienced along Nyanya and Karu roads has not gone anywhere," the Minister said.

Engr. Soso Mohammed, Director, STDD said the 13 kilometer road project was awarded in 2011 for about N6.4 billion adding that N2.3 billion has been spent.
