New petroleum minister will continue as NNPC head for a while

He was appointed head of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) at the beginning of August and became junior minister for oil on Wednesday under President Muhammadu Buhari, who will also continue as oil minister.

Nigeria's newly appointed Minister of State for Petroleum Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu said on Wednesday that he will also continue in his role as the state oil company head "for a while".

He was appointed head of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) at the beginning of August and became junior minister for oil on Wednesday under President Muhammadu Buhari, who will also continue as oil minister.
