The NIS reportedly made N520 million from the recruitment process which resulted in the deaths of about 20 applicants.

Former Interior Minister, Abba Moro

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is currently interrogating former Minister of Interior, Abba Moro over the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) employment tragedy of March 2014.

The tragedy caused outrage nationwide with many demanding that Moro be dismissed and prosecuted.

The EFCC has also questioned former NIS Comptroller General, David Parradang, on the issue.

An earlier report had it that the NIS allegedly remitted only N45m out of the funds generated from the process.
