Aisha Alhassan attracts outrage after saying girls weren’t abducted under Buhari’s administration

Alhassan is said to have made the statement to some of the girls’ parents during their ongoing march to the Presidential Villa to meet with Buhari.

The Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan has attracted outrage from Nigerians after she said that the Chibok girls weren’t abducted under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Alhassan is said to have made the statement to some of the girls’ parents during their ongoing march to the Presidential Villa to meet with Buhari.

The minister was sent along with her Defence counterpart, Muhammad Dan-Ali, to receive the parents on the president’s behalf.

The girls parents and members of the Bring Back Our Girls group embarked on the march after Buhari said during his recent media chat that the government had no idea of the girls' whereabouts.

The Chibok girls were abducted on April 14, 2014 and most of them remain in captivity.
