“We will show that violence in any form will no longer be tolerated before, during or after elections," he added.

The increased violence in Rivers is believed to be a result of clashes between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

The APC has accused the PDP of orchestrating the killings of more than 30 of its members while the PDP has accused the APC of politicizing the deaths in the state and claiming every dead person as its member.
