President reiterates plans to probe NNPC looters

Speaking during a meeting with China's president, Xi Jinping, the prosecution of individuals that misappropriated the revenue of the NNPC under past administrations will commence soon.

 

Going by a recent speech by President undefinedon Sunday on the sidelines of the ongoing 70th United Nations General Assembly holding in New York, looters of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation would soon be brought to book.

Speaking during a meeting with China's president, Xi Jinping, the prosecution of individuals that misappropriated the revenue of the NNPC under past administrations will commence soon.

Reiterating his commitment towards getting rid of corruption in the Nigeria's oil industry, President Buhari said the appointment of Dr. Emmanuel Kachikwu as the leader of a new management team for NNPC was necessary.

“The prosecution of those who misappropriated the NNPC’s revenue  under past administrations will soon commence,” he simply said without disclosing much details.

In conclusion, the Nigerian president expressed gratitude to his Chinese counterpart for the interception of shiploads of crude oil stolen from Nigeria, and which were to be sold and proceeds paid into private accounts.
