The president has travelled back to Abuja while his deputy has visited flood victims in Benue.

The president arrived at the capital with First Lady, Aisha Buhari, spokesperson, Garba Shehu, Chief Security Officer, Bashir Bindawa and members of the protocol unit of the Presidential Villa.

The president had travelled to Daura on Wednesday, August 30, for the Eid-el-Kabir break with a public holiday announced for Friday, September 1, and Monday, September 4.

The president cancelled the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting that was supposed to take place earlier on Wednesday due to what Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed said was due to not enough time to prepare documents for the discussions.

He also visited the Makurdi International Market which has been sheltering displaced victims since Friday, September 1.

According to camp manager, James Iorhuna, 4,775 people had registered in the camp as at Tuesday, September 5.
