President, Abdusalami in 'strictly private' meeting

Abdusalami headed the National Peace Committee for the 2015 General Elections.

President Muhammadu Buhari and former head of state, Abdusalami Abubakar.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, October 15, was in a 'strictly private' meeting with former Head of State General Abdusalami Abubakar (rtd), at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to report, the former head of state arrived the Presidential Villa at 3.30pm and left at 3.55pm. He declined to speak to journalists on his way out.

The committee was behind the two-time peace accord signed by former President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party and Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In August, the committee also expressed concerns, at a meeting with Buhari, about the process of the anti-corruption war of his administration - stressing that Nigeria was no longer in a military regime.
