A Nigerian lawyer has sued President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, for failing to declare their assets publicly.

Kabir Akingbolu further accused Buhari and Osinbajo of violating Section 172 and Section 11 (1) and (2) of the Code of Conduct for public officers by their actions.

“I know as a fact as a legal practitioner that Buhari and Osinbajo are duty bound to declare their assets publicly and it will be in the interest of justice, public peace and good governance to grant the reliefs in this suit,” Akingbolu said in an affidavit filed before a Federal High Court in Lagos.

Other defendants in the case are the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
