Group sues President for N100b over Fulani herdsmen attack

The group also want the Federal Government to identify and compensate the victims of the attack.

The group dragged the government to court, over the alleged killing by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Enugu state.

Suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked a community in Uzo- Uwani Local Government Area of the state on Monday, April 25, 2016.

Also joined in the suit are: President Muhammadu Buhari, Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, and the Inspector General of Police.

Punch reports that hearing on the suit will commence on May 16, 2016.

The attack on the community by Fulani herdsmen was also condemned by various groups across Nigeria.

In the suit, the group called on the court to declare that the killings in Enugu amounts to a violation of the rights of life.

They also want the Federal Government to identify and compensate the victims of the attack.

The Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase transferred the Enugu state police commissioner, Nwodibo Ekechukwu following the herdsmen attack.
