Bomb blasts to thwart FG's effort, says NLC

NLC described the bomb blasts in Yola and Kano as an attempt to thwart government’s effort at ending the insurgency.

This is contained in a statement signed by the NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, in Abuja.

The NLC in the statement condemned the bomb blasts that claimed dozens of lives in Adamawa and Kano states.

"These attacks are cowardly and despicable and are calculated to break the spirit of the people.

NLC in the statement said that it was shocked and irked by the continued choice of soft and vulnerable targets.

The statement urged appropriate authorities to step up security awareness campaigns as well as regular patrols.

It also advised the citizenry to be extra-vigilant as well as take pro-active measures in their daily lives.

The congress in the statement said it would continue to offer its support to the government in its fight against insurgency.

It advised government not to be distracted from its mission of routing out the insurgents.
