Terrorist group recruiting youths in Cameroon

Cameroonian towns and villages near the border with Nigeria have now been emptied of young men who are believed to have been recruited to fight for the sect.

Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram is replenishing its numbers by recruiting youths from the border regions of Cameroon, security sources say.

Cameroonian towns and villages near the border with Nigeria are said to have been emptied of young men who are believed to have been recruited to fight for the sect.

This was disclosed by Joseph Nouma the commander of Operation ALPHA, a special military operation set up by Cameroon's government to fight the Nigerian terrorist group.

"We don't doubt that Boko Haram is recruiting in Cameroon. Many of them are found across the border in Nigeria, training with the terrorists," Colonel Nouma told CNN.

"Boko Haram is a permanent metamorphosis, dying every day but recruiting every day as well, and this complicates a lot of things for us," Colonel Jacob Kodji, interim commander of the 4th Military Region, also said.

"We kill them, but they keep on coming," Nouma said confirming Kodji's account.

Boko Haram has been attacking Cameroonian border towns with increasing frequency lately due to its proximity to Nigeria and in retaliation for Cameroon’s contribution to the multi-national battle against the terrorist group.
