Many killed as terrorists attack Borno village, Magumeri

The attack is said to have occurred at about 6pm on Wednesday, March 16, when terrorists invade the village in six trucks and several motorcycles.

The radical Islamist group Ansaru was formed as a Boko Haram splinter group in 2012

The terrorists reportedly shot sporadically at villagers and also set houses on fire.

“Our town is under heavy attack this evening, the insurgents large in number stormed Magumeri at about 6:30pm when Muslim Ummah were performing Magrib prayers,” a fleeing resident, Ali Baba Umar told Vanguard.

“I cannot ascertain the number of casualty as we were all terrified and scamper for safety, I can see flames all over some places in the town,” he added.

The attack has also been confirmed by Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Usman Sani Kukasheka.

However, no official casualty figure has been announced.
