Army troops clears Bama, Leje axis of Sambisa forest

All routes have been blocked by the Nigerian army, in bid to prevent Boko Haram terrorists from transporting livestocks across the borders.

 

The Nigerian Army troops operating in the Bama axis have been reported to have cleared 4 camps occupied by Boko Haram terrorists in Faldan, Kidiziromari, Kuroshini, Kurumari and Ngulda area of Aulari in the Sambisa forest.

According to Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, 1 Boko Haram member was killed while trying to escape from the camp and 31 hostages were rescued.

Reports say, Army troops discovered an underground storage facility,farm produce in metal drums, several bicycles and motorcycles. Farmland yet to be harvested were set ablaze by the terrorists. A wooden rifle used for training and practice by the terrorists was also retrieved.

Troops of the 7 division Garrison also conducted patrols along Leje axis, cleared about 15 surrounding villages. The villages includes Khadadamamari, Ladin Buta, Hilmari, Kashauri, Keshan Ngala, Aiwa, Masu Kura, Mabirni, Grza 1 and 2, Mashuari, Dubenge, Tauba and Majande.
