63 dead as explosion rocks Borno community

63 people have been reported dead after an explosion rocked the town of Monguno, Borno State.

The explosives which caused the blast were said to have been found at an abandoned Boko Haram camp by a group of civilians who then carried it into the town.

The home-made bombs exploded on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, when a group of people gathered to inspect them, AP reports.

The incident is yet to be confirmed by relevant security agencies.

Borno State has suffered the worst of the Boko Haram insurgency which has left thousands dead and several others homeless.
