Governor promises to run credible and transparent govt

He said as a student who passed through the Institute, Lagosians should not expect anything less than an administration of good governance in the next four years.

The Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Thursday, August 27, restated his administration’s commitment to run an open, credible and transparent administration.

Ambode said this during a courtesy visit on him by Olufemi Deru, the 51st President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), at the Lagos House, Ikeja.

''We are glad to receive you because what ICAN stands for is actually what Lagos stands for in the past 16 years, and I promise that this administration will always support ICAN.

“We do boast of a great number of chartered accountants in Nigeria, and I am a very proud member of the institution,'' he said.

Ambode appealed to the ICAN president to help implore more of its members to come into the civil service and lend their experience s and professionalism.

''I am a very good student of good governance and we are committed to open, credible and transparent government.

''This is because we represent that bridge of technocrats and professionals that touch the lives of people of the state”, he said.
