Governor condemns destruction of properties by warring communities in Lekki

Two people were reportedly killed in a clash between indigenes of Onirayin and Ilagbo communities on Tuesday

According to Punch, two people were reportedly killed in a clash between indigenes of Onirayin and Ilagbo communities on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.

Ambode also said that people should not resort to violence as a means of settling issues in their communities.

The Governor told the warring communities that no form of development will take place in a violent environment.

Ambode said “I am not happy with what I have seen here in terms of destruction of property and loss of lives. We have invested a lot in these communities, but we will be scaring investors away if we choose to resolve our differences through violent means.

“Government has the will to bear the full weight of the law on whoever threatens the investments and peaceful coexistence among people in this area.”

Governor Ambode was represented at the meeting by Oluseye Oladejo, the state Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations,
