EFCC releases blogger detained for alleged cyber stalking

The blogger was arrested over a report published on his blog against the EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu.

According to Punch, Abusidiq was freed about 30 minutes ago (August 9).

In a statement released by the EFCC on Monday, the blogger was picked up over a report published on his blog against the agency's Chairman, Ibrahim Magu.

The report headlined, ‘EFCC boss, Magu, commences total war with core EFCC staff’ was published on August 2, 2016, and accused Magu of bullying staff.

It also accused the Chairman of corruption, and of being jittery about the delay in his confirmation by the Senate.

The blogger's arrest had attracted criticism on social media, on Monday, especially on Twitter, with users tweeting with the hash tag #FreeAbuSidiq - this trended for several hours.
