2016 Hajj: Jigawa loses 2 pilgrims

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has confirmed the death of two pilgrims from the state in Saudi Arabia during the 2016 Hajj.

The Public Relations Officer of the board, Alhaji Ibrahim Hashim, confirmed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Dutse.

Hashim said the male and female pilgrims died after brief illness.

The spokesman said the deceased had since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.

NAN reports that no fewer than 2,369 pilgrims from the state performed the 2016 Hajj.
