Search engine names 17 FUNAAB lecturers as best among others

Google Scholar Citation(GSC), a web search engine that lists full text of scholarly literature, has rated 17 Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta among the top 500 profiles in the ranking of researchers and scientists in Nigerian institutions.

The rating of the seventeen FUNAAB researchers, including six professors, ten doctoral degrees holders, and one master's degree holder among top five hundred profiles according to their Google Scholar Citations(GSC), is a BETA ranking of the scientists based on their declared or voluntary presence on the Google Scholar Citations Database.

The results of the ranking according to the statement issued by Emilomo Alawode, head of FUNAAB Directorate of Public Relations, showing the GSC, was displayed on the web page of the "Ranking Web of Universities"(

This statement stated futher that the ranking is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas(CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain.
