Sokoto state government announces plans to impose new laws

New traffic laws and strategies are about to be enforced in Sokoto state in an attempt to stop accidents.

According to Alhaji Dahiru Abbas, the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Works and Transport, these new laws will soon be enforced.

Speaking at news conference, he shared details of the state government's latest traffic strategy.

"We also carry out inspection of vehicles, tricycles and Motorcycles as well as conduct tests on vehicles for registration with government.

We will collaborate with sister organisations on road traffic management, control and administration,” he added.

Public enlightenments, and daily patrols are also part of the government's efforts to manage traffic effectively and put an end to accidents.

This was announced on September 21, 2016.
