The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said that it has disbursed N272.36 billion under the Commercial Agriculture Credit Scheme (CACS).
Apex banks pays out N272.36bn under Agric credit scheme
This was disclosed in the apex bank’s economic report for February 2015 which was released at the weekend.
According to the report, the specified amount was disbursed by 20 commercial banks for 351 projects.
The report stated further that a total of N135.5 million was guaranteed to 5,008 farmers under the Agricultural Credit Guarantee Scheme (ACGS).
The amount represented an increase of 55.1 and 3.1 per cent above the levels in the preceding month and the corresponding period of 2014, respectively.
