This star-studded supernatural thriller was late Obi Madubogwu's last film

Popular for "Battle of Musanga" and "Conspiracy," the late Obi Madubogwu made his last outing as a filmmaker with "The Grave Dust."

Obi Madubogwu passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017, after a long battle with diabetes.

An actor, writer and producer, the filmmaker had a career that spanned over two decades.

Obi Madubogwu’s last known work was the 2015 movie, ‘The Grave Dust,’ which premiered on May 29, 2015.

A supernatural thriller, the movie featured A-list actors like Joke Silver, Ramsey Nouah, Emeka Okoro, Joseph Benjamin and Amaka Chukwujekwu.

Directed by Ikechukwu Onyeka, written by Ugezu Ugezu and Saint Joseph, "The Grave Dust" was produced by the late actor.

The suspense-filled psycho-thriller told the story of a successful stockbroker, who suddenly hits the reverse gear on the lane of success due to reasons he could not comprehend and how he was left in his own world in his palatial mansion that is filled with tormenting elements.

Speaking on the movie, Madubogwu had said;

“I have done several productions in Nollywood having practiced for over two decades now. I must say that the story of ‘The Grave Dust’ is one of the most unique stories I have encountered; which was why I made sure that nothing was spared in making it a huge success.

"It is unique in the sense that it questions a lot of concepts that are easily overlooked in the African society. The film was made with Africans in mind and that is where Nollyood is headed now. It allows the audience to make decisions from the unfolding drama and suspense.

Majek Fashek produced the soundtrack and music score for the film. The trailer was released on YouTube on November 24, 2014.

The film was initially scheduled to premiere in November 2014, but was postponed to May 8, 2015. The film was eventually released on May 29, 2015.
