I'm hurt but I think I still love her

Hi Bukky,

I loved this lady and wanted to marry her but whenever I bring up marriage issue, she always insists the time isn't right.

To my dismay, I recently discovered she was dating another guy and he's married. She even got pregnant and had an abortion for him. She confessed everything to me and pleaded for forgiveness.

I'm hurt but I think I still love her. Do you believe there's any future for us?

Hello Fred,

Being betrayed by someone you love and trust isn't an easy thing to forgive because too many emotions are involved. Being able to do so is what makes you a better man.

You first need to let go of the hurt and pain you feel, though it's not easy but with time you'll heal.

Make out time to be alone with your thoughts and try to think of your next steps. Don't be too hasty in making any decision you might regret later.

You may love her but can you look at her and not think of how she cheated? The decision to take her back or not is totally up to you.

If you are willing to accept her and you see a future together, then you must be ready to forgive, forget and never use her past against her whenever an issue arises. You must also learn to trust her once more.
