Alexis art gallery is a gallery that prides itself as a collector of art, from sculptures to paintings.

Alexis gallery located on 282 Akin Olugbade Street, Victoria Island, Lagos is indeed a collector art.

The entrance of the gallery welcomes you with all sort of beautiful, colourful and artistic features which ushers you into a room that looks a little like a collection of junk and stuff. Guess what, it is. It's a room filled with sculptures, all sorts, wooden, metal, bronze, I mean, whatever thing fits into the definition of a sculpture.

The room which was dimly lit had this really old feel, smell and aura attached to it as though it hadn't been visited in a long time. But, regardless of this, it's got a lot of beautiful sculptures all parked and stacked together in this little room. Although, a little much for the room, I could tell that each piece in the room was literally fighting and struggling to get my attention totally reminding of watching a Nollywood movie where all the girls in an only girls school fight to get the attention of any guy (either a teacher or a visitor) that walks into the school.

This sculpture room further leads to another room which houses only the paintings, paintings of all types; oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas and other mixed media art pieces.

The room which was quite spacious was neatly arranged with the beautiful pieces hanging so well on the wall side by side. Each of these pieces had their details well documented in a log book, with the name of the artists, the title of the artwork and of course, the amount each cost.

The gallery also had a nice cafe with a calm atmosphere where you can basically just eat, drink and cool off when you feel the need to relax.

Alexis gallery is a super nice gallery with a great collection of art.
