Label does colourful styles for Bridal Couture 2018 Collection

#FollowMaiHeart: Mai Atafo's Bridal Couture 2018 'The Heart' Collection rings in unconventional styles, colours for brides.

Tapping celebrities including Bolanle Olukanni,Beverly Osu, Jemima Osunde, Wofai Fada, Linda Ejiofor and Idia Aisien as muses, the ethereal styles are presented in peach, powder blue, Ivory, cream, powder pink, a blend of cream and gold, pink and off white hues.

The collection made a subtle debut at the Heineken Lagos Fashion & Design Week 2017 closing the show with the 'dance' from "Beauty and The Beast" recreated on the runway to replicate the transformation love brings to situations that involve the heart, introducing the collection unveiled recently at a private viewing (if you missed it catch it here).

Ball gowns with intricate appliqués with plunging elegant necklines, endless layers of tulle as details were spotted on some pieces. Showstopping styles including bandeau jumpsuits, boned peplum hem, gaping back bow detailing, ribbed bodice for a cinched and sensual nip tuck effect amongst other daring details. The pieces are for the bold bride who is out to enjoy her big day.

The Bridal Couture collection also sets off Mai Atafo's #FollowMaiHeart campaign where the designer got inspiration from brides over the years to create pieces they'd actually love to wear but couldn't due to peculiar restrictions.

“Decisions made with the heart are made out of love and love is the one thing that drives everything in life, this collection is an ode to brides and an inspiration to others because I always #FollowMAIHeart” Mai Atafo shares about the collection.

The campaign set to kick off on November 15th 2017, will see Mai Atafo campaigning for brides to "follow their hearts" for their big day.

"The Heart collection is inspired by the bride who follows her heart when picking her dress, without the constraints of the church and a budget or the influences of friends and family.

The collection transcends the traditional white gowns to introduce dresses in blush, nude, pink, blue with soft corsets and couture structured gowns that express a modern day bride who has a strong heritage" Mai Atafo shares the inspiration behind the campaign.
